Pedro Neto
Pedro Neto received the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, in 2012. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Coimbra and the Director of the Collaborative Robotics Laboratory. He is the author of several journal and conference publications and participated in two European HORIZON 2020 R&D flagship projects. His research interests include human–robot interaction, collaborative robotics, pattern classification, and smart manufacturing.
Samuel Moniz
Professor in Industrial Engineering and Management at University of Coimbra – Faculty of Sciences and Technology.
He specializes in solving real-world optimization problems. He has been involved in solving complex problems through the application of advanced modeling approaches and data science techniques, with applications in the process and manufacturing industry. Main research interests are concerned with the development of optimization methods and simulation models to solve supply chain, layout, production planning, and scheduling problems.

Ana Barros
Ana Cristina Barros, PhD, MBA, is a senior researcher at INESC TEC in the field of operations, supply chain and technology management. She has been visiting researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, CMU (2014/2015; 2012), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT (2008-2011), and Cornell University (2002). Ana Barros obtained a PhD in Engineering and Management (Technical University of Lisbon, 2011), a MBA in Logistics and Entrepreneurship (Technical University of Munich, 2004), and a M.S. and B.S. in Chemical Engineering (University of Porto, 2000). Before joining INESC TEC, Ana Barros worked several years in the procurement and production planning departments of German and Portuguese companies. At INESC TEC, Ana Barros has participated in several European projects (ADVENTURE, BEinCPPS, NEXT-NET, AI REGIO). At national level, she participated in projects in collaboration with other Portuguese universities, CMU and MIT, and in consultancy services in the area of technology management and Industry 4.0. Currently, Ana Barros is the EIT Manufacturing Program Manager @ INESC TEC. Research focuses on supply chain strategy, innovation networks, and technology management.

Ana Simões
Researcher in the Centre for Enterprise of Systems Engineering from INESC TEC and Invited Professor at University Portucalense. She obtained a PhD in Engineering and Industrial Management (Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto, 2016), a M.S. in Quantitative Methods applied to Management (Porto Business School of University of Porto, 2003) and B.S. in Engineering and Industrial Management (University of Aveiro, 1998). Alexandre Marques
Senior Researcher at Center for Enterprise Systems Engineering at INESC TEC.
Specialist in supply chain planning with emphasis on the forest sector. Recent projects deal with novel mathematical programming methods for real-time logistics planning, development and use of decision support systems. Sustainability issues and new concepts of circular economy are also studied. In this project will research the linkages of decision making tools with sensors and similar technologies under the framework of Industry 4.0.
Author of several publications in international journals in the field of Forest Planning and Operations Research.

Germano Veiga
Germano Veiga is a Mechanical Engineer with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics and Automation) (2010) by the University of Coimbra. In 2005 he was an invited researcher at the University of Lund, Sweden, and was a researcher (2002-2011) and Invited Professor (2007-2011) at the University of Coimbra. He is now Senior Researcher at INESC TEC, in Porto, and from 2016 is Auxiliar Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. His research interests are mostly focused on future industrial robotics including, plug-and-produce technologies, robot programming, mobile manipulators and Human Robot Interfacing. During his PhD studies Germano was part of the FP6 SMErobot team (2005-2009) and later became member of the Exec. Committee of the FP7 ECHORD project (2009-2012). More recently Germano became the coordinator of the INESC-TEC team participating in the projects FP7-CARLoS, FP7-STAMINA, FP7-SMErobotics, H2020-ColRobot. Since January 2017 he is the Coordinator of the H2020 ScalABLE4.0 project.

Marcelo Petry
Senior Researcher at INESC TEC
Marcelo is a robotics researcher and educator who joined INESC TEC’s Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems in 2019. His research interests are in robot perception and localisation, and the application of robots to logistics, inspection and human assistance. He earned his undergraduate degree in Control and Automation Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2008) and his PhD in Informatics Engineering from the University of Porto (2013). Previously he was Assistant Professor at Federal University of Santa Catarina, and researcher at INESC P&D Brazil (2014 to 2019).

Cláudia Rocha received the master’s degree in Bioengineering (specialization in Biomedical Engineering) at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto. Currently, she is researcher at the Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems of INESC TEC. She joined the centre in 2016 and since then has been involved in national and European projects.

Joana Dias received the master’s degree in Biomedical engineering and Biophysics at the Faculty of Sciences of University of Lisbon. Currently, she is researcher at the Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems of INESC TEC. She joined the centre in 2016 and since then has been involved in national and European projects.
Mohammad Safeea
Mohammad Safeea received his Doctor of Engineering in 2020 by both the University of Coimbra, Portugal and École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers, Lille (Joint Ph.D). He is an invited assistant professor at the University of Coimbra since 2020. He participated in various European research projects (HORIZON 2020) and coordinated technology transfer activities from academy to industry. He received various awards and he is the author of various publications in international peer reviewed journals and conferences. He has been an invited speaker for different events including TedX. His main research interests are robot dynamics & control, AI, and the issues of safety in human robot interaction.
Mihail Babcinschi
Mihail Babcinschi received the master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Coimbra. Currently he is researcher at the Collaborative Robotics Laboratory of the University of Coimbra. In the last few years Mihail Babcinschi has been involved in different international research projects. His research interests are metal additive manufacturing and data interoperability to help on the digital transformation of industry.
